Default Finally got to the drag strip - '03 Cobra swap

Went out to Sacramento Raceway for Mustang Madness to run my car for the first time after swapping an '03 Cobra motor and tranny into my '00 GT. Only bolt-ons are JBA shorties, Magnaflow catted X-pipe, and K&N CAI. I recently got an SCT Xcalibrator with a tune from Modular Depot to fix some issues I was having. I'm still running the 4.10 gears and solid axle out back. The tall 1st and 2nd in the T-56 work just fine with the 4.10s. On street tires my best run was 12.59@116 with a 1.99 60-ft time. I just babied it out of the hole from about 1500 rpm slipping the clutch a little and then hammered it when it got rolling. Surprisingly with this technique on the street tires the 60-fts were incredibly consistent - all between 1.99 and 2.05.
Looks like I need to beef up the rear end and put in a cage if I want to run some stickies. I'm expecting 11.7 or 11.8 with slicks and a good launch.
It was a fun day - I got 5 runs in (2 dial-in, 3 eliminations), and chalked up a win against a Pantera DeTomaso. The guy was dialed in at 15.00 (this was a real Pantera with pontential to run much faster) and he would just baby it to half-track and wheel race you to the finish line. I ran a 12.597 on a 12.60 dial-in and broke out but he saw me coming hard and got on it too much and I chased him off the big end and he ended up breaking out by .6 seconds so I got the win!
