well usally when the pinion depth is not right there will be a loud noise and vibration when accelerating,,usally when on deceleration its the carrier bearings..but it could be a few things,and if i could see the rearend apart in person i could tell you whats goin on..i have had the best luck with ford racing gears they are made really good and require min amount re shiming , so i would lean more towards the person installing them wrong.mabey they didnt put the pinion shim in that will ware out teeth and make one hell of a once the gears are worn from improper install or make vibration or noise even if you re shim and get it right it will make noise
