![]() Now I've almost got all my stuff for my A0d/T-5 conversion.
I bought a used T-5, bellhousing, flywheel,clutch fork and steeda shifter. Then got a king cobra clutch kit, adj. cable and steeda quadrant(going back for firewall adj.). From what I understand all I need now is pedals, reverse light harness, shifter boot and a double hump crossmember. Anything I'm leaving out? What kind of acceleration difference should I have? With the AOD and 3:27s it ran 14.3@97. Thanks I can't wait the suspense is killing me, lol. ------------------ 1988 Mustang GT |

I want to know what 1/4 mile time it runs after you get it installed, so be sure to post back here with your results. |

![]() The crossmember can be used. You have to repositon it I think. Do you have a welder? You should already have a double hump crossmember if u have an 88'. The t-5 will shave 1/2 second off your time.

![]() You can keep the same crossmember...i didnt have to change mine at all. I dont think its different than your car. Remember, you wont have a rev limiter for your new 5speed cuz it is an AOD computer. While you are down there, make sure your rear main seal isnt leaking, it is an EASY fix when doing a trans swap. ![]() Myself. I had an aod and i switched to a t-5 and by mistake i overeved it to 7 grand and it went that high....so i figured it didnt have a limiter. How do you know? I could be wrong. It was from my own experience

![]() Basically don't trust the stock tach upto 7,000 rpm. Its way off up there. The AOD and T-5 computers both share the 6,250 rpm limit.

![]() Well, I have an AOD car with an AOD computer, and I have bounced off my rev limiter several times. This is how I know.
