Post OMG! Someone got paint on my CAR!

Well not my car.. its my mom's 2000 GT Convertable! We live in a Town House complex and the Home Owners Associating is having all of the units painted. Well my mom's GT was in the garage as they were painting the outside of the garage door. They did not mask off the garage (there is an 1" gap between the door and the wall) and paint sprayed through.

The paint will NOT come off unless waxed. However the GT has a dealer installed special finish which claying and waxing would remove. THEY WILL HAVE TO PAY TO REPAINT THE CAR!

BTW sorry for the large pics. I wanted to show you the best quality.

Oh dude, if it were my 'Stang I'd have those painters by the neck demanding payment. NOW.

What a bunch of rejects! Didn't they know paint flies everywhere when you put it on? This HAD to have been their first time painting or they were high. Ugh, I'd think that paint is permanently ruined depending on what kind of base that housepaint is. Good luck getting this settled, and just be sure the insurance agency is called and copies of these pictures are sent to them AND the homeowners association with a letter asking what they're going to do about it. Whatever you do, DON'T try to remove it yourself.

The painting company's insurance will cover it. They have to carry the insurance by law if I'm not mistaken.

My friend ran a branch of College Pro Painters a couple years ago. He even had to carry insurance for his small operation.

Good luck, but I don't anticipate any problems.

The same thing happened to my Black 96GT last summer...
I live in a fourplex. My neighbor, whose garage is right next to mine with just a thin wall seperating them, was painting his white truck in his garage.
Well, I go out and open my garage door later, and it just reaks of paint fumes in there. There was a white dusting over my whole car.
...let me tell you, he was out in the driveway for several hours polishing the sh*t outta my car. It did all come off though. Lucky for him.
