![]() Yes, it would work, I'm not sure whats involved, bui I know a guy who used (1) turbo off a ford turbo desil, ran it on poropane, & hit 12.00 in a dodge D-50 with a stock 302 out of an 87 stang (other than a cam for turbos & propane, & a carb conversion)
hope it all goes well!! ------------------ 1988 Mustang GT, T-5 No Smog Pump (Shorty Belt), Dumps At The End Of Stock H-Pipe (Sounds Mean), K&N Air Filter (Stock Air Box, Removed air silendcer), 198.9 rwhp @4200 (235 Motor!!), 285 lbs-ft @2900 (336 Motor!!!). My Stang |

![]() I don't see why it wouldn't work. Just keep in mind that such automotive cannibalism isn't easy. There will probably be a lot more work involved than it first appears. Good luck man.

![]() 302crew, don't quote me on it, but if I remember correctly MM&FF used two turbos from the Thunderbird/Cougar turbo 2.3 liter four engine. I think they were T04 turbochargers. They custom made most of the pipe, (I believe the headers were swapped from one side to the other, pointing towards the front of the car) and built their own intercooler from a big rig intercooler. If anyone has any more info, please help 302crew out.

![]() the turbos will work , the article used turbos with no liquid cooling other than oil, the dodge are liquid cooled(coolant),so you must tap into that, as well as the oil line at the sending unit, using a t, they used after market shortys pointed forward but ran into a fitment problem, they hit the sway bar, 1/2 inch block of steel, longer bolts took care of that, lots of custom bent pipe for exhaust mods, relocate battery to rear, removed stock filter asmbl. used two conical k&ns, they had a custom intercooler built from a rig, lots of custom plumbing for intake routing. Turbos are heavy , they need brakets, dont hang them from the exhaust pipes. the oil return lines are crucial, they must run as straightdown to the oil pan(yes you need to make holes in the oil pan, with tubes to attach these hoses on each side) as possible, no kinks or the oil wont drain back. The turbos you are mentioning have only 7lbs of preset boost in the attached wastegate, the ford units had 10lbs. Dont worry, this is lots of boost, these turbos will spool up so fast your head will spin, your would get full 7lbs by 1800 rpm at the latest, virtually no lag detectable ,the wastegate will be hangng open for the rest of time, dont run them wide open to long or you will wreck the wastegate seat! read crack. This is a very big job for someone at home with limited mod. skills and tools ie:welder, bender, chopsaw., and time . oh yah, one more thing, you will need a fmu(fuel mngmt unit) to control the fuel or you will run lean and blow your motor to bits, or at least the head gaskets.also that motor pinged constantly when they ran it down the 1/4, even with the fmu, soooo, be careful.
