Post Burnouts

Ok, I am wondering, why the heck can't I do a burnout? I get it up to 5k and drop the clutch and it just leaves a 5 foot long black mark, a very light one! I am going it in my 98 GT and the other night a stupid kid with a 94 GT comes and does the same as me and squeels the tires and leaves a big black mark. He's got a K&N air filter and superchip. How is that gonna help? I got a K&N airfilter to, but, my car just doesn't want to squeel or crap. Now, all my friends thinks he is the greatest guy in the world and keep asking me why I can't burn! Makes me mad! GRRRRR! Help!
