Question 00 Gt break-in period

Owner manual just reads
varying speeds. Is there an RPM limit other
than redline, or ready to go out of the box?
Current miles 900.

I have no idea of the break in period. I just got a 2000 perf red Gt with a 5 spd myself. I didnt take it pass 3500 rpms for about 1500 miles. That took great restraint on my part. I now have 2400 and havent had any problems except one strange shifter problem where she wouldnt come out of reverse. Later that evening I went out and she popped right out and hasnt gave me a problem since.

I don't really think there is one almighty break in procedure. Just don't beat on the car for the first 1000 miles change your oil then have at it. I hit the track myself at 1013 miles, went to synthentic at 2500 miles and at 30K miles and 200+ passes later have had no problems at all.

Good luck!

Wink

Thanks to all. Ignore
new post. Need a Pro
5.0 shifter on this keyboard. Synthetics.
Worth the money, or make a new post and check your archives?

i disagree guys.. i think you should change the oil after the first 250, then 1000 and then drive it like you stole it. I have heard and believe that the cars that are driven hard out of the box, are the fastest too. My car was driven hard after the first 500 miles and the results speak for this..
