Post Help!

Hey Guys & Girls,

Need your help! I'm changing out my gears on my 2000GT next week on Thursday. What is the part # for the speedo gear used for the transmission? and if color coded what is color? Does any body know if it has the same number of teeth(23) as the fox bodied mustangs use?

Any sugesstions as to where I can get it would be great! THANKS!

Actually the 2000 GTs don't use speedo gears. They stopped doing it that way in 1998. To correct the speedo you need a speed compensator.

Try Dallas Mustang. http://www.dallasmustang.com/

I think they have what you need. Or:

Or actually, I think this is the best one:

Installation:

But it doesn't work if you have an automatic. Anyway, welcome to the site!

Welcome to the site GTGrl00! What gears are you getting? I installed some 3.73s and I love them.

Cool

Hey KingSnake,

Thanks! This site ROCKS! I'm getting 3.73s too, although I was'nt aware that I had to get an Electronic Ratio Adapter to correct my speedo, which obviously increases how much I orginaly anticipated to spend, it's cool though I still really want to get this mod done. I have'nt heard an unhappy customer yet who got the 3.73s.

Laterz Guys!
