Post Help me choose lowering springs please!

I have been trying to figure out what to buy for weeks now and am getting nowhere. My goals are to improve my '97 Cobra's appearance with a 1-1.25" drop and to improve cornering (I love taking those exit ramps at 2x their posted speed limit) and do this without making the ride much more harsh or spending a TON of money. I was looking at the Eibach Prokit as well as the Bullit combo package which includes shocks/struts as well I believe. I hear from lots of people that just lower their cars that replacing shocks and struts is a must within like 10k miles so maybe doing it all at once is a good idea. I don't mind spending the cash to get it done right, but I would like to stay away from all those extras like CC plates if possible. Can anyone help me finally decide what to get so I can order some stuff already?! Thanks!

I'd like to tell you that you can add any kind of spring & that you won't have to add C&C plates but I can't.
Dropping your car will affect the geometry of the front wheels which affects the tire wear.
I put lowering springs on my 97GT and the tires are wearing a little faster.
Not crazy wear but you can tell.
There is lots of great springs but I went with Ford Racing Springs which are made by Eibach.
LOVE them & the car looks great.
Good luck man.

Well from what I understand lowering less than 1.25" or so doesn't effect the geometry so much that it requires CC plates and does not harm tire wear too much - I just want to know what kits lower the car around that much but will give me the performance boost without a crazy amount of harshness to the ride added.

I've also been looking to get my coils replaced, been looking at the eibachs, ford motor, and steeda's, I'll probably go with the eibachs or ford motor, let me know what you get when you pick yours up, thks.

If I can't decide in the next few days I'm going with Eibach's - I had them in my 3000GT and they worked out well. I would like to hear from others that have lowered their cars to see how they like their setups tho!

I have Maier Racing lowering springs in my '00 Stang and I love them. They are in California, check out their website www.maierracing.com, give them a call, ask for Mike (really great guy and know his stuff) , anyway he did my install and I totally plan to go back to get the rest of my suspension work done.
