WTF? 3.27's in a 96?

I thought 96 GT's had 308's as the only rear end gear choice, but sure enough i checked my rear end today and it was 327's. was this an option or am i just wrong about the 308's?

It was an option. Mine had the same ratio.

And the standard gearing was 2.73s.
