My friend keeps telling me his 350 86 silverado with 350 hp will woop any mustang including both of mine here. I know what my car can do. But he insists his truck will win cause he says it can devour any car on the streets. I know thats not true cause if he runs in to THE TEN SECOND STREET MUSTANG HERE WITH THE TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR MOTOR HE WILL RACE HIM AND BEAT HIM. But i know i will win but he just keeps on thinking.

I don't know much about chevy trucks, did they have a 350 hp motor in those trucks from the factory? How does he know it has that much hp? Ever put it on the dyno? I doubt it.

This is probably one of those backyard motors that's suppose to make 350 hp. I don't know the whole situation, but let me share a little story with you.

A friend of mine blew the 305 in his 87 pontiac trans am. He found this guy that had a 383 for sale that made 400 hp. The guy had alot of receipts that added up was around $4500. The receipts showed good parts were used building this motor. Long story short, his best pass was a 10.85, in the 1/8th.

Now this truck weighs probably 1000 lbs more than your car so that neglects the horsepower advantage, if there ever was any, anyway.

You don't say is your car auto or stick. If it's auto, you might be close on take off only because stock auto mustangs are dogs out of the hole. If it's a stick you will definately have him all the way. Either way you going to win.

My friends 97' 5.7 gmc truck has about 400 hp and only runs a high 14 or low 15. When we went out to the track and with two people two twelves sitting in a heavy box and some things in the bed it ran 15.4 with a 2.7 60 foot. The truck has headers, dumps, msd ignition, cold air induction, 3.70 gears, and nitrous. During that run it had 100 shot now it has 125. but it also is an extended cab. I'm not sure on the actual weight. Try a race you win some you lose some. I've been able to beat 350, and 396 chevelles/malibus a 400 truck and a 400 firebird. Just a matter of how you grip.

Yeah you have to watch out for those "bad a$$ GM's", especially those little trucks. ;) Also my friend has a 2000 chevy extended cab, 4WD truck, all stock it ran a 15.8. It has 285hp.
