Default How much HP do I really have?

O.K. fellas, I have right now:

A 5.0 bored 3.0 over

10:1 pistons

MSD igniton

1 5/8 BBK fulllengths

Offroad H-pipe and Flowmasters

aluminum driveshaft

Windsor Senior heads - ported and polished

24 lb. injectors

Harland Sharpe roller rockers

Im about to buy an intake but can't decide. Planning on Holley though with a 75mm throttle body as I plan to supercharge later - what do you guys think?

What kind of cam should I get? It has a stock cam now and I'm thinking its screwing me.

How much horsepower do you think I'm making now and how much with the other mods in place?

Should I convert to Mass Air?

The stock cam can acutally make a decent amount of power. But you should get an aftermarket one soon.

I'd guess with the stock cam and intake your only somewhere close to about 260rwhp, now get and intake and cam and you'll get that number around 300rwhp

You need a dyno to find out. Otherwise its reall just guessing.

probably 250-260rwhp.

Do the cam and intake and you can get 285-300rwhp.

The stock cam isnt abd at all though

Default Isnt that a little low?

Just wondering if that may be a little low since stock is 225

Heads ported and polished should bump it up a good 40 horses alone, I would think.

My exhuast should be worth another 20 HP I would imagine.

I also have a k&N filter and underdrive.

Dont you think, maybe, with all the other stuff that's supposed to gain maybe a few horses each thing I would be close to 300?

Around 340-350 with an intake and throttle-body and maybe 380 with a good cam?

Am I unrealistic?

It's just that I see in magazines 350 horses for the Holley Systemax and my heads will flow more and I hear the cam is not that great.
Not to mention my slightly higher compression and a few other things.

Am i just fooling myself?

Why does my combo not perfrom around the Holley Systemax?

They are talking REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER(RWHP). The power that you put to the rear wheels. Stock RWHP is around 190rwhp. With your combo why the heck are you afraid of a 94 formula?

1BAD89 is correct.

RWHP on your car is probably around 260+ which translates to well over 300 HP at the flywheel.

Feel better?

Just wondering how ic an have a few more power adders(small i know) but still be under teh holley systemax II package.

If i was to get a custom cam would i be over 350 rear wheel horses?

SHould i get mass air or is mass air a myth?

Default well....

If you are worried about beating Vette's, get a 100 shot of nitrous. That will be the final nail in the coffin.

You'd be lucky to make it to 300 rwhp. Don't guess. Go get a tune or make some pulls
