Look, I know most people think chips are nothing but junk on near stock mustangs, but I think that a good chip will give my 95 cobra a decent improvement. The only problem is finding one. I was thinking about Superchips, but I think diablosport also makes one for mine. Has anybody had any luck with a diablosport chip??? I know my cobra computer sucks and I'm on a hunt to wake that darn thing up.

Unless you have heavy mods a chip will not do much more then bumping up your timing.

Sorry, but I've got to agree with WADS56 on this one. Spend your money elsewhere. Unless your going with a high hp forced induction setup, a chip just isn't worth it.

Program your own chip.

Or call Johnson Motorsports. I think it is JMSCHIP.com or something. A friend uses him to burn his custom chips. Like $250. He now puts reliable 505 to the rollers. And drives like a new Saleen. It is a 95 Cobra with S/C and other mods. Reburns are free.

I use the EEC Tuner. I have a topic on it already.

Thanks for the replies, but I know my computer retards the timing between shifts, which I think may be worth a tenth or two. Also once these cars go over 90, the timing is messed with agian and is accelerates like crap past that. I gotta try something to fix this without spending $400 dollars.

Ive never seen a reference to MPH in regards to timing in any of the eec files. By 90mph there could be other issues in reqards to load factors, injector pulse width, or ignition problems, curve etc... There are many things you can learn if the finances allow for the purchase.

I won't rule out the VSS signal (speed sensor on the speedometer cable at the trans) could be bad, or that in those early models there may be something that controls it, but it is highly unlikely. If you have no VSS sensor, or cruise control, then it is impossible anyway.
