![]() Well, I just got my motor torn apart, removed the heads and lifters, hoping to find out what was causing a knock. I found two lifters that I can push down with my fingers - all the rest I can't do that to so would I be right in saying that those 2 lifters are junk?
I also found - when turning the motor over by hand while the heads and lifters were off - every time a piston came to the top of its stroke it seemed like on its way down I could hear a small, quiet little 'clunk'. I'm not sure if this is normal as it only does it when the piston is at the top - and then as soon as it starts its way down - I hear it, but after that - the rest of the way down is smooth and I hear nothing. Is there supposed to be some play in there at all? I'm not sure but I really need to find out what is going on. Thanks for any advice! vande |
