Hi, everyone
I am a new member to this site, I just want to say hello and ask a question. I am doing a conversion on my 1966 coupe from a 200 six to 302 V8. The donor car is 1990 Lincoln LSC, I am swapping the entire drive train engine to rear end my problem is the automatic transmission and Engine mount will not line up, for me to have both of these to fit will I have to change the Transmission and if so which on will work for me. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not sure I completely understand your question but I'll try to address it the best I can. From what I've heard/read you should not have any trouble with motor mounts when swapping in a late model five liter. Just pick up a set of standard 289 mounts from a 66 car (don't use the mounts from a 65 because they allow the engine to sit up higher than the 66's). With those, the motor should drop right in.
If you are going to use the AOD from the donor car, you're going to need a special tranny crossmember to get it to line up right. I believe Mustang's Plus (and several other venders) offers a kit for installing a late model transmission is an early car.
I'm willing to bet that you'll have to modify the drive shaft to make it fit, but do so after everything else is permenantly in place.

It sounds like a cool project.....Hope this helps

As Frankenstang said, the engine mounts should fit without a problem. Windsor-Fox makes a transmission crossmember that will adapt the AOD to your early chassis[I've used it].

You also will have to cut the driveshaft. But, as stated do all that measuring after everything is bolted together. I think I cut mine about an inch. My car is a 68 though.

You need to adapt the floorshifter or you can buy linkage from Windsor-Fox.

The throttle cable [TV], well that's another story. You will have to adapt it unless you are using the LSC's fuel injection, then it's a no brainer. If you decide to go carborated then you have to have TV cable hook up or transmission will burn up in short order.

Only other thing that I ended up doing was changing the convertor to an Art Carr with one piece input shaft. Makes a big difference.

Good Luck, sounds like a cool project.
