Greetings all!
As many of you know, my main passion is racing, and I work for 8 months out of the year as part of the crew for Jim Porter Racing. We run a 360ci, alcohol injected (mechanically injected) Sprint Car, and last year won the Championship. Well, the new season is quickly approaching, and we have been making some changes to our car. I took my camera today and shot a few pics. Most are on my website. Just click on the link below. They are pretty cool. In one pic, you can see the headgasket. Due to excessive block decking, we had to use a copper head gasket that is .066" thick (that's thick!), and in another you can see where the cam comes through the back of the block (that's what drives the steering pump) There are a couple of the solid axle quick change rear end, too. We usually run around 6.72:1 gears in there. In one or more of the frame shots, you can see that there is no room for a transmission. It's a good thing we don't use one! In the engine pic below, you can see the magneto distributor lurking in the back. We have to use it because we don't have an alternator, or even a battery for that matter! If you guys ever have any questions about Sprints, just ask!

Take care,
