That is a quote that PKRWUD had in his sig a few weeks ago. MAN, I'm gonna have to adopt that policy as well. I know I'm gonna hurt some friends/family feelings, but I'm tired of the crap. Over and over again people seem to just expect me to cater to their lack of planning and I'm just gonn have to stop being so nice.

This has nothing to do directly with you guys, just relieving a little pressure from around here. If it happens once or twice that is enough, but not 3 to 4 times/week. No. Screw that, I got enough things to worry about than to take one's irresponsibilities (whatever that is) upon myself as well-- that's simply disrespectful towards me. Now I understand if there is help needed from uncontrollable circumstances, if I'm able, I'm willing, but not over and over again if it's b/c of somebody's procrastinating crap.

"Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part!"-- fully adopted my Mr. Fox Body.

I'll help people out if they're in a jamb, but I won't if they're just lazy.

I say good for you.

I think PKRWUD was refering to business clients but of course this motto works in any situation, business or social. I've practiced it most of my life.

I've a few less 'friends' but also less hassles and my friends are real. We don't 'use' each other. Help each other? In a heartbeat...but never use each other.
That's friendship, in my book and it's always worked for me.

I'm agree with you Fox Body....i actually figured out that it's alot easier to deal with your own problems than to deal with everyone else's (usually the reason people dish off their problems to other people is either because they lost control or they're unmotivated to resolve the situation).
If i have a close friend that i'm close to in a pinch i'll help them out in whatever way i can, but i have alot of acquaintances that i've left to "deal with it". I just give them the advice "if you deal with it now, you won't have to worry about it anymore. Face the music."

That is a good motto though, and i especially like how it applies to business situations because i'm usually REALLY organized.

Yes, I like how this applies to business situations, I get these about 3-4 times a week. I wish I could actually give this line to some of my customers. :)

Yes, it applies just about everywhere. It seemed to apply to my ex more than anyone else, but it's fairly universal.

Take care,

Unless the business customers are willing to pay for the emergency :)

Well I wish this saying was applicable 100% of the time. The only problem is when you are responsible for the "big picture", then no matter how bad someone else screws up, you have to fix it
