O.K. ladies and gentleman, I know we tend to get upset when our babies dont give their all. I was the same way, then I recieved orders to Korea. A one year remote, no wife, no kids, and no car.

I love - and miss - my family and it is hard to be away from them. After that, I miss my baby. She's sitting at home and I can hear her cry to be driven. I miss the sound of her purr, I miss the feel of her Hurst shifter, I miss her beauty .

When she doesn't give you 100%, remember that you have her and she is there to give you what she can. My poor baby is sitting and missing the bad days as much as the good. I would gladly get my butt whipped by another Lightning, just to have her under me. I told her that day that I was dissapointed that she let me down and now I regret it.

Dont make the same mistake I did and take your baby for granted show her how much you love her everyday no matter how bad a day she has. She can only give you what you let her.

In short, love those who love you, regardless of who or what they are and I hope you never have to be in a position like mine.

We feel your pain as only folks who love their cars can, Shawn.

Good advice and a good reminder to all of us that things can change, both with the people we love as well as with our Mustangs.

Appreciate them all.

I know how you feel dude. I just got back form korea in Jan. I could wait to get into the stang. Then after being back for two weeks i ended up spinning the rod barings and have been able to drive her since. Now i will be off to the middle east and miss her again.

unfortunately sometimes it takes time away from things to be able to fully appreciate them. I admit, i take things for granted sometimes, but every once in a while something will remind me all the good things in my life and how fortunate i am to be in my position. I wish you well being and hope you get to see all your loved things soon,

Rick

Good point for us military types to remember.

Well think of it this way.
Save, save, save for the mods.

1 year, plan on an amount you can put away and then put money to the mods.

I make sure to give my car a kiss when ever I can. I usually start her up and sit on the floor (I got no seats yet) and just listen to her purr..... I've burned a half a tank of fuel since November and I havn't even moved the car.

Screw the little brats!!! The poor, poor Mustang :( :(

I hated missing mine during the MONTHS she was getting painted, and the MONTHS while the motor was being built *sigh*
