Post Spark Plug Gap?

Just picked up a set of plugs today and the guy said there were two entries in the computer for the gap... .054 and .045
.054 seems way off. Anyone know the correct gap? Visiting my father in like the boondocks so we didn't even have an Autozone to go to. This was a CarQuest or something place. Never heard of it. Thanks again.

edit: oops forgot to tell you that my car is a 90 5.0

Wink

.054 is correct for a stock motor
hopefully you did not waste your money
on platnum plugs, cheap copper plugs will make your 5.0 run much nicer ..

I just put a set of Motorcrafts in my 90, the motorcrafts I pulled out could qualify as the factory originals the gap was worn to over 0.070.

My emissions sticker lists the plug gap as 0.052 - 0.056, call it 0.054 for a average to shoot for.
