Default Port stock mass air or not??

I have a stock 70mm mass air on my 95 Cobra, my friends that have the 4.6 stangs have all ported theirs out, but I haven't heard of anyone with a 5.0 do it. Can it be done, and if so should I do that, or spend the money for a 75mm or 80mm mass air meter. Any advise will sure help me out.

Don't mess with it. It's not worth it with those things being so tempermental. You can get a different MAF for like $150.

I have a 93 gt and i ported my stock mass air with no problem. I ported it from the stock 58mm to about 65mm with no problems.

I bought the C&L MAF housing for about $150 and it was well worth it. Just unbolt the stock sensor and put in it it's new home. The sample tubes are changable. I wouldn't recommend porting the stock one because as i've read about them, the restriction is there for a venturi effect that increases flow through the sample tube which flows past the hot and cold wire. If you mess with it, the calibration will be incorrect and chances are it will run fine, but you may lose quite a bit of power because the computer won't be able to accurately calculate load and air/fuel for the load.
