![]() Does anyone know where I can get some hyd. rollers that will handle 7000+
I remember reading about some in Race Pages... Comp Cams has had a "Pro Magnum" p/n 877-16 for a few years now but keeps pushing back the release. These critters a supposed to be reliable in the 6500-7000 range. I have heard horror stories about stock lifters past 6500. When I had my car dyno'd Anderson would not rev it past 6500. I have shifted at 7000 on the Autometer a few times on the street and when I made the only three passes that have been made on this new combo because it pulled all the way up to that point. I haven't puked a lifter yet and most certainly do not want to. So what's up? Any info? ![]() |

![]() I don't know why Anderson would not rev it past 6500 because they now sell cams that will rev to 7200 with the stock lifters. Check out there website, I think they even have hydrolic cams that will rev to 8000rpm

![]() The dyno operator stated that the stock lifters are unreliable past 6500. I had told him that I assembled the heads and motor, maybe he thought it would grenade on him.
![]() Anyhow, I also noticed the new AFM cams a few months back; which, they were not available at the time of the dyno session nor did they mention anything about them to me... I told him that it pulled right up to 7g and he had a funny look on his face. Oh well, they got my money and I went home with (a) PMS and some hp/tq figures to work with. Maybe if I would have bought the power pipe and 80mm Pro-m that Ron was trying to sell me while I was there... I ended up buying the power pipe later on and still plan to change over to the 80mm, but all my stuff was new at the time of the dyno session. Back to the lifters... I have good springs that are matched to the cam, titanium locks and retainers, Crower stainless 1.7's... good hardware! The motor is rev happy!!! zing right up to 7g and pull a gear! Still no signs of the mythical rollers?? I read a dang article but I can't seem to find it... how's that for organized! Thanks for the input... Business as usual ![]() Last edited by ultraflo; 03-26-2002 at 11:48 PM.. |
