Default fix comp after gears??

well i completely decided on a 4.10 gear (with the speedo of course) but i was told i will need to update my comp for either shift points or the new gear or something. i really have no idea but a few friends told me that something like that will have to be done. any extra costs in that if needed?? btw, my car is an automatic 95 gt

when you say comp do you mean your computer?

if so, then no you dont.

All you need to do is change the speedometer gear in the trasnmission so the speedometer wont be as far off.
I'm not sure if they even make the correct speedo gear for AOD's with 4.10's, but one for 3.73's would get it close

the gear is plastic and will be about $15, and is easy to install.

good luck,
-Drew

yeah, i meant the computer and thanx for the answer. im oblivious to cars and have no idea what an AOD is. could it be auto w/ overdrive?? im just guessing. i only asked the question cause like 3 different people told me that i would have to change something in the computer with a $150 program.

yes an AOD is teh automatic overdrive transmission. But you actually have an AOD-E (the E means electronic, overdrive is electronically controlled)

Now if you had a 96 or newer car, THATS when you would need to have the computer programmed for your new gears. They have a completely different computer system than yours.
