![]() Anyone know where I can get these? What would the compression be with em on a stock motor? Could I still run 87 octane?

![]() Call Dave at JD's Performance www.jdsperformance.com, the last time I talked to Dave they was a wait of around 4 weeks from AFR. They are available in two different cc's 58 and I believe 62 or 64. The 58cc heads will slighty bump compression.

![]() Actually, the AFR 165's are only available in a 60cc combustion chamber now. They recently ceased production of both a 58 and 65cc head. I got mine through JD's performance as part of the group purchase. I was the lat one on the list, and it took a LONG time to get them. I ordered them at the end of January and I just got them last week! It wasn't Dave's fault, he was actuall really nice about it, but AFR can only produce so many units a day as they can not speed up their CNC machines. When I spoke with them they were running round the clock shifts 6 days a week just to get caught up, and they just purchased a few more CNC machines to also help out. You can call Dave, but he told me that he doesn't really like selling them anymore due to the long wait most of us that ordered them experienced, but please call him anyway, he's really nice and will help you out and steer you to someone that can help you. The only way I know to get them quicker is to get them from Ed Curtis, as last time I spoke with him he had a few sets on hand.
The factory E7TE's combustion chamber varied from ~63cc to 65cc, the variance was due to variables in the manufacturing process, not by different years or anything. With a 55cc head on a stock bottom end you'll be around 10.1:1 with a regular thickness head gasket. I'm actually getting a gasket from Ed Curtis that will in itself bump compression by .1. Hope this helps. ------------------ 95 GT convt' 5 speed, 3.73's,FMS HD clutch, Pro 5.0 shifter, ASP alum. underdrive pulleys, Bassani offroad X pipe, 2 chmbr flowmasters, K&N w/o silencer, edelbrock performer intake, FRPP 65mm T-body, FRPP shorty headers, FRPP aluminum driveshaft.Hooker 4pt chrome car bar, Xenon/Wings West ground effects, custom interior Best ET: 13.83 Best MPH: 98.55mph with Best 60': 1.91 on Nitto DR's Homepage: <A HREF="http://www.angelfire.com/pa2/killercanary" TARGET=_blank>http://www.angelfire |

![]() Hah, hah, life is a joke. I've been waiting since January for a set of AFR 185 cc heads. My dumb luck. I got a set of 165 cc heads, had them sent back only to get another set of 165 cc heads

![]() my afr 205's came inside of 3 weeks...I ordered them straight from afr. They were very easy to deal with. I also like the fact that they cared about getting you the right head for your application.

![]() I got mine in a couple weeks direct..165/58cc..
We are now making the chambers in 58 and 61cc The 60cc is for pedestal only and the 205cc tall port heads only. this is what I got from AFR, so, if you want stud mount, you can get the 58cc.. 60 for the pedestal mount.. you should still be able to run 87-89 octane gas.. I run 89 here in the winter and 17*+ timing with no probs ;-) ------------------ 84 convt,'95 302,AFR's, performer 3.55's, underdrives stock shorties stock cam, 1.7's 14.06@100.21, 255RWHP on a hot day 265 on the mph/weight chart |
