![]() I almost have my choices narrowed down and have a few last minute questions.I am ordering a D.S.S. stroker with AFR heads and I like the systemax intake but really have not decided as to the intake yet.I am learning this process as I go and can not afford any mistakes.I plan on using about 8-9 lbs. of boost and was curious if I should allow the motor a break in time before I install the boost or will it hurt to assemble everything and break the motor in while running boost? Will a 331 with good heads, intake and 8lbs. of boost get me 400 to 450 hp?Thanks for any advice as I am sure I will need a lot more before this is over.

![]() Best way to break in rings is with pressure. I broke my 347 in with 10lbs of boost and I would do it again. Now I have a 347 that uses no oil and a set of rings that seated great.

![]() A properly built and tuned 331 with AFR's, mathcing cam, rockers, etc. with say 9:1 compression and 8-9 psi at the manifold will easily net you 450 hp, maybe more.
Call Tom Nagel over at DSS, good people with good advice and quality strokers. E
