Default only when my baby's hot

My GT would all of a sudden bog down and stall when after running for a while. This all happened when we started getting this hot weather (ontario) and I also got my muffler replaced with flow masters...any ideas guys?

Thx

Lightbulb Stalls when hot

Possible TFI Module failure.

Ford has a recall out on these units but your '87 may be too old (over 100,000 miles?) to qualify for a free replacement.

If so, they cost about $100. at a Ford dealer and replacement is fairly simple.

Next time it happens, try to restart it for 5 seconds, without touching the gas pedal, then pull a spark plug. If the plug is dry, it's probably a fuel pump problem. If it's wet, it's probably a TFI problem.

Take care,
-Chris

Mr 5.0:
Did you pay $100 for a TFI module? Reason for asking, I paid $30.00 for one at Advance.

Fuel pump possibly, pkrwd thats a good idea, thast why i come here, for knowledge like that,

I had this problem before, and was stranded until my my car cooled, i suspected the tfi (was hot summer day), but ever since i got an electric fan, colder t-stat, new radiator, it hasnt happend, im still worried about this summer, i should proaly carry a cheap autozone/advance tfi in my trunk just in case.
