Default ok forget dynos..what will be faster

ok i am almost done building my newmotor..i basically have left to buy is carb and intake..i was going with the victor jr intake but now i see this new RPM airgap intake and i like it..in the article in 5.0 they say that this intake will be faster on most motors(unless built for real high rpms) as in the motor with the same combo just diffrent intakes the RPM airgap will walk the vic jr and the vic jr probally wont be able to catch up..here is my combo you tell me..i am leaning towards the RPM airgap..whatcha think

dss 306, 10.1:1, AFR 185(58cc), XE274HR(.555/.565, 224/236), 650 Deamon, 4.10s, dynamic c-4 w/ 4kstall, and a big blue bottle in the near future..all this will be in a 93+ Ranger set up for drag(2200-2500lbs)

thanks in advanced..rember dyno #'s dont impress me..1/4 times do!

Thumbs up Have any pics?

I have a Big shot fogger system that is going in when I get my new tranny. Are you building a drag only truck? I can't get any traction on the street with my 18.5 wide tires, but they are just the M/T sportmans. What are you shooting for in the 1/4? I'm hoping to dial in to at least a 9.99@130+. 2200-2500 lbs...that's pretty light, still keeping the ac right? LOL. I haven't weighed my truck yet, but if I had to guess, I'd say 29**lbs. But I won't really know until I go weigh it. You've got to run THE fattest tires/slicks you can fit, because the rear of your truck is super light, what kind of suspension are you planning on running in the back? I'd like to see some pictures of your truck. Justin.

29**lbs!!!!...what is in those things..a stripped ranger will generally weigh 500lbs less than a GT..one kid told me his 2nd gen weighed 1900#s!!!!!!!there is really nothing to them

im looking for a 93+ bod right now..i have a disposable cam to full document the project..im planning on moving the battery behind the rear along with a fuel cell under there and probally a 100# peice of steel welded back as far as i can..nothing but essentials under the hood..glass hood..std cab with 6'bed..shortest wheelbase possable..ill get her to hook allright..i allready got some '99 cobra wheels for it and some '99 cobra leather seats for crusiing..got to get another sets of skinnys and phatties for the 5 lug..

I don't know about 1900lbs, even 2200-2500 sounds really light, mines an extended cab, cage, etc..... mines in complete street trim, I'll just have to get it weighed, but 2200 would be a completely gutted race only truck. They weigh more than you would think, and 500lbs lighter than a Gt, that's questionable.
