Exclamation help plz

Can someone tell me how to remove the air silencer? I have a general knowledge of where it is by reading other people talking about it, but I dont know what it looks like, nor how to take it out. Also, anyone installed the March Ram Air? I want to get it. I found it for $100 so I wanted to find out if anyone has it and if so, tell me what you think. Also.... anyone know how to change the pcv valve without taking the intake manifold off? I can't see it nor can i reach it! I'm trying to improve gas milage(i think i'm getting around 12mpg city,18 hwy)i can't afford to keep pumping gas into it. Any suggestions at all? Anything will help.

What's up? You should get the ram air kit as it helps feed the engine cool air. You might pick 5-7 horses. I wouldn't even bother taking the air silencer out. It's behind the air cleaner toward the fenderwell. You do not need to take the intake off to take the PCV out. It's very simple. It's located behind the intake in front of the firewall. Your gas mileage is suffering a little. Here are some things I'd check : fuel filter, vacuum leaks, leaky lines, bad injectors. I know it sounds vague but there could be a lot of reasons. Since you sound new to the engine department I'd suggest getting a Hanes manual for your mustang. It tells a lot in deatil about the car in general. You didn't mention if your car is stock or what year it is. ???

Some more things to give you better gas milage:
Cap/Rotor
Plugs/Wires
Clean air filter
Check timing
Check and/or replace oxygen sensors

First take the cover for the air filter off.... then take the air filter out, you will see bolts that hold the filter case there, take them out. Once that is off, you can see the silencer inside of the fender, I believe (it's been a long time...) there's only two bolts holding that on, take those off and maneuver it out of the inner fender from the outside! Good luck... it's pretty easy!
