Question AOD to T-5 Swap Help Please!!

Hey guys, I need help. I am doing the a AOD to T-5 swap on my 91 coupe. I have one question I need help with. There is a cable running from the steering column to the AOD shifter. It is a black cable and has a plug in under the column. What do I do with this cable. i have unhooked it from the AOD shifter etc, Can I remove the whole thing, is there anything special you have to do for this situation. Thanks in Advance!!!

It is just the wiring for the light on your shifter so you can see which gear you are in when its dark. I just unplugged mine and left it there when I did my swap

let me know if you have any other questions about the swap, its pretty straight forward though

I took care of that one. I have a cable that hooks to the shifter and runs under the radio and around up the steering column where it is connected. It also has a wire plugged into it. I think this only on 90 -93 cars. I did not have this on my 89 or 88...
