Hi everyone! My name is Stacy, I'm 24 years old. I've had my Mustang since last December. It's a '99 and it's red. At the end of August, I got into an accident. It wasn't my fault. A new door had to be put on and a new quarter panel. It looks brand new. But there's a problem or there was a problem. We had new rear brake pads put on, but the car is in the shop now. There are going to be new brake pads in the front and the rotors are turned. But I have question though, will it make a noise with the new brake pads. I have to admit I know nothing about cars, but I appreciate the help. The Mustang has been my dream car for God knows how long. It was surreal when I realized that I actually have my dream car!!

Far as your concern over your brakes,I see no reason why they would make noise after the rotors have been turned and new brakes installed.
Get some pics of your pride 'n Joy after she's fixed up! :D

welcome to mw, once the rotor's get turned & new brake pad's put on , just slam your brakes kinda hard, not in traffic :eek: it should seat the pads, into the wear pattern of the rotor's. good luck. :) :D :D :cool:

You should not notice any noise other than the occasional squeak.

A squeak or a squeal from time to time is relatively normal with any semi-metallic disc pad... it shouldn't be excessive though. A few hard stops should take care of the metallic dust build-up that causes intermittent noises... grinding noise is what you want to avoid/prevent!

I'm sure you'll love it here as much as we do.
If you got semi-metallic pads, then you may have to hear squeaking for a week or two at the most. If you have any other questions feel free to ask, take care, Keith

Hope ya enjoy the site, I think the guys pretty much covered on a solution, just try to "break" them in and if it still makes the noise everytime, you might want to have them checked out.

and they will squeak the first couple times you use em, but it shouldnt last longer than that day...
