How big of a stall converter do you have?? it might be slipping on topend. your only picking up 17 mph in the second 1/8. i run the 1/8 mile about 79-80 mph and i pick up about 20-21 in the second 1/8.

You should be going at least 5mph faster. Do you have a fuel pressure guage you can watch during a run? Not enough fuel will slow you down on the top end.

I have almost the same problem and I attribute it to the converter.

I run 7.16 @ 98.92 in the 1/8th but only run the 1/4 in 11.12 at 117.

I have a 4K stall on it and I think it is slipping WAY too much at the top.

just to answer the questions some of you have. I have a fuel pressure guage and it reads 7psi the whole way down the track I run a 830 holley so I am sure that the prob is not fuel
I have an A-1 automatics 3500 stall converter art car race prepped c-4 aluminum shaft can the converter slipping slow down the car that baddly?
or is there something else I am missing??

Wow is right! That is great 60ft time! I am only getting around 1.70. Hopefully the C4 that I am going to put in will help that out for me. I am also hoping that a different converter will solve my top end problem.

Has anyone heard of
http://www.edgeracingconverters.com

They claim that their converters will improve your top end MPH with a more efficient coupler.

I am thinking of giving them a try.

well I've found out where my top end was going, for starters, my direct cluthes were completely gone, and my converter was a lock-up, so now I have a fresh transmission, and a non-lock up converter, and we'll see what happens from here.
