![]() Crate is a generic term to mean a brand new block you order form somewhere. You can get either a short block or a long block. My understanding of that difference is a long block comes with heads.

![]() Soooo, theoretically, if I see "514 ford crate motor"... is it assumed that since it is Ford built, that it would fit in a 99+ Mustang? Just wondering, I'm too happy with my motor now to do anything, but just wondering.

![]() Just never explained to me.. heard it lots of times, never got around to asking. I don't do my work on my car... I was a full time student headed for med school. It originally started off as a project with my dad. I confess that I don't know too much about working on motors. But I really could give 2 sh*ts if you flame me, I don't even know you... it is the internet.
