Cool Carb guys

My son is thinking about converting his 90 LX to carburetor. What kind of times are you carb guys running with a relatively stock combo?
Thanks,
Eddie

Why does he want to convert to carb? If this is going to be a daily driver, then I would say it isn't worth it.
If you plan on racing it then a good carb set up is the way to go.
Also, if he's just doing it to get rid of EFI problems he may have now then he might be in for a surprise.
Keep in mind that if you switch to a carb you will give up these things.

1) cold starting quality
2) increased fuel consumption
3) higher emissions
4) decrease in cars value

He might want to think about these things first before he switches.

Have to agree that replacing EFI with a carb set up is not a good idea unless it's strickly a race car. Resale alone would be hurt. Plus, you'll never get it past the emmision Nazi's.

Yea I'm fully aware of all the cons you guys listed and they are valid.
He is on a limited budget and going with a carb is so much cheaper than upgrading EFI throttle body, intake, injectors and MAF, not to mention any custom or aftermarket chips. For the price of a decent carb intake and pre-computer distributor be would have a universal setup that would be good for any combo from mild to about 450 hp. It is a compromise but a very cheap way to hot rod the car.
I was just wondering what if any performance gain or loose the carb guys noticed when the went to the carb.
My car is EFI all the way for atleast one reason, the supercharger loves EFI.
