![]() Hey,
Just bought a whicked stereo for my 1990 lx ford mustang, and I cant figure out how to get the damn original tape deck out, me and my brother in law had alot of stuff taken apart and he doesnt seem to get how to get it out either, if anyone would be able to tell me a little trick or a how-to kinda thing on how to get it out so I can get a cd player in, that'd be great!. ![]() You need a set of "keys". My suggestion is to make some. Take a coat hanger and cut off two sections about 6" long. Bent them into a "U" shape. On your tape deck there are 2 small holes on either side. Stick the coat-hanger in the holes and bent them inward. This will disengage the locks on the radio. Slide it out.
Post again if you have trouble or have any more questions.

![]() You can buy the keys at Auto Zone for 2 bucks. The deck will be out in seconds.
