Hood Support shocks?

Has anyone in here installed a set of those hood support shocks to take the place of the support rod? If so , what do you think of the system? I have seen them somewhere for around 70.00. Seems as if it would be a nice upgrade to get that rod out of your way. Let me know.:D

I've seen those as well. It would be really nice to get them on my stang.... but I heard from the body shop that painted my car, that it will bow the fiberglass. I'm sure it will work fine with the metal hood.
