View Full Version : Fuel Presure problem Please helpl!!!!!!

Hi there i bought a bbk fuel presure gauge that reads 30 to 80 and when i hooked it up it reads 70 now i know thats too high, and i need to hook up a regulator, my question is i see that on ebay someone has a Spectre crome adjustable reglutor for 10 bucks will that work. thanks alot.

DON'T buy a used fuel pressure regulator!!! Buy a new Kirban. 70# is way too high. Factory setting is 39 psi with vacuum hose removed from top of regulator, but that pressure can be moved up or down depending on the needs of your engine but you must have the adjustable to do it.

I thought it was lower then that. I just bought an adjustable regulator and set it at 39 with the hose off. My car seems to run a lot stronger with it set there. Should I have it set higher according to the mods I have listed below?

Possibly. You might be running a little lean, but the only way to tell is a wide band O2 sensor (i.e. during a dyno tune) or tuning at the track with trap MPH as an indicator of HP.

Didn't see anything about "new" or a picture. Buyer Beware.
The regulator goes in the fuel rail. I don't know what you mean by using it to hook up to your fuel pressure guage - to adjust pressure to the guage?

that regulator is for a carb setup.

Hey there i have a regular on the line that looks like the billet one you see in the magizines, it has a fitting for something to screw on i guess thats for the gauge but how do i adjust it, thanks alot.

is it a fitting or just a hose nipple?? probly just a hose nipple and that where you would hook the vacuum line from your old regulator. To adjust right in middle there will be an allen wrench fitting and a lock nut. You loosen lock nut with a deep socket and then can adjust it. need to have a gauge other wise you won't know which way your adjusting or how much.

Hey there there is a hose nipple where there is a line from the upper intake ans there is a fitting too. Now do i hook up the gauge to that fitting and the fitting has the bolt but im not seeing a allen head screw on it. thanks alot.

here's a pic of a regulator. the hose is the vacuum line and the fitting and locknut is where you adjust. loosen locknut and use allen wreanch or is your case regular wrench to adjust. You'll need a fuesl pressure gauge and you tap into the fuel line right behind the alternator.
