About a month ago Jeff65 posted some excellent advice for me on how to install an original air conditioner in my 1966 Mustang Coupe 200 6 cylinder engine. Thanks, Jeff, I followed your instructions carefully and have almost competed the installation.
I now need advice on only a few more items:
1. For the bolt holes in the compressor to reach the slots in the steel support, I had to put a spacer (about 1" thick) on the bottom of the steel support and the compressor is now setting on that spacer. Should I leave that spacer there or remove it and allow the compressor to sit about 1" above the steel support?
2. I bought from the Paddock a new drain hose for the air conditioner. Inside the large end of the hose (with a grommet to go through the lower slanted part of the firewall) has a slotted rubber barrier close to the end. I think that it would take a lot of pressure to force water through this barrier and also understand that water is just overflowing into the hose with no pressure so I cannot see how this hose will work.
Any help or advice anyone can give me on these two subjects will be really appreciatied.
Thanks,
Dennis
