![]() Here's the deal, I have a 5.0 HO out of a 89 Gt going into a '66 mustang, and it's not going to stay a fuel injected type. I'm going back to carb. I'm not doing anything to the block or heads. I just want a good roller cam for a stock block, Edlebrock performer RPM intake, holley 750 carb, full lenth headers, and a free flowing exhuast.
Is there anything to give me an old car sound, from a roller motor, without radical mods to the motor?

![]() The FRPP B-303 or E-303 cam would be a good choice. Is better then the stock cam, but is very streetable with good power throughout the RPM's.

![]() If you're not doing anything to the stock heads...then you should run the stock cam. The stock cam works great with the stock heads. The stock heads don't flow enough to benefit from a B or E-303 cam. I had a friend do the same type of swap in to a mid 60s Mustang. He used a motor from a '90 5.0...ran the stock heads, block & internals with an Edelbrock high rise manifold, bigger carb with mechanical secondaries & long tube headers with Flowmaster mufflers. The thing sounded mean. Much healthier sounding and rumbled quite a bit louder than any stock '87'-93 I've heard. This thing hauled *** too. It was an auto (not sure which tranny) with a 2000 stall...and would wax a lot of newer Mustangs with way more mods.

![]() Well, I am going to sell that car after I get it done, so I was thinking, if it had a new cam, and sounded realy mean, that it would sell faster.
Would a B or E cam improve performace any on stock heads?

![]() Ya the B-303 or E-303 are good choices, comp cams makes really good cams for the 5.0 also. The only thing I see wrong in this combo is the Carb. 750 is way too big even for my engine combo and you are all stock ? A 650 would be the most you should go.

![]() Just sayin your wasting gas and losing performance. Just making you aware of what is really happening with your car. I'm not trying to be a punk about it or anything if thats what you thought.
