what year did the 4.6 replace the 5.0? what year was the best (strongest) 5.o produced? thanks, in advance, for the info.

In Mustangs, the 4.6 SOHC V-8 (215 HP) engine replaced the 5.0 in 1996. 1996 Cobra's had a DOHC 4.6 (305 HP).
The 'strongest' 5.0's were from 1989 - 1992 but - except for Mass Air - they have only slight differences from earlier 5.0's.

And if I were to get a 5.0 it'd be an 86-92 b/c you get the forged internals, EFI, and a pretty good looking car......can't beat that w/ a stick:D
