Default Edelbrock Carb

I have a '67 Coup with what I thought was a 289 but is now a newly rebuilt 302. A friend just sold (practically gave) me an Edelbrock CFM 750 carb that he had used for only a few months. I have ordered the intake for it but someone told me that the CFM 750 is too much carb for my engine. What problems will I have if I install this carb? Thanks, E.
