![]() any ideas on how much this SHOULD cost me? Any ideas on what additional work I should get done while the transmission is out? I'm thinking about getting 4.10 gears put in, would this be a good time to get it done? (its on a 93 notch, automatic)

![]() Depending on the shop, you're looking at about 2.5 hrs. labor, so at my shop that'd be $100 labor, plus parts. As far as the rear goes, the only thing in your favor is the driveshaft will be out, not much help. It would however, be a good time to change the tranny filter, and check out the ole' converter too. Also replacing the FRONT seal in the tranny is a good idea at this point too. It has the same mileage on it that the leaking rear main does.

![]() yeah my rear main started leaking at a around 110k. As stated above, I dont see any advantage to changing the gears at the same time.
PS- $100 for 2.5 hour labor??? Thats like $165 here on the cheap!

![]() Yeppers, $40/hr shop rate. That doesn't include parts though. Busier than a cat coverin' poop on a marble floor too!

![]() Yep, good time to change fluid, filter, and put a shift kit in. Converter would be nice as well.
