As long as theyre not "P" heads, they should fit. Any idea what kind they are? x, etc?

the heads you have should be the straight gt40 heads. The gt40p's do have four bars. Gt40 heads should not cause a problem when it comes to headers, from everything I have read.

Look next to #1 spark plug hole, a GT40P head has a "P" cast right into it. Headers will work just fine if they're straight GT40 heads.

Use the lifters from the '88 and DO NOT MIX THEM UP. They have to go on the same lobe they came out of. Lube the heck out of them too, good assembly lube. Then pray to the cam gods that it doesn't wipe the cam out.

Let me get this striaght you have to change the cam and you are putting a "stock" mustang cam in there.
You have decent heads, do yourself a favor and install a decent cam.

well, I am not sure a new cam is all that neccessary. I have ported my e7's extensively, gasket matched...and all the good stuff. They should be good decent flowing heads. I have been under the impression the stock cam will respond well to the opened up heads. Do not know yet, since the weather is not good enough here to test them out.
You guys think it is needed for his set up to upgrade cams?

If you use the stock cam your going to get inferior horsepower. Upgrade them. Its for the best.
