Default 1974 Mustang II Ghia SDV location - Help!

Hi,
I have a 1974 Mustang II Ghia. I am attempting to locate the SDV, also known as the Spark Delay Valve. I have a Haynes Manuel - but it simply isn't in there. I have also tried contacting ford but they only keep tech. references for their modles of 1988 and after. Any help - whether it be a crude diagram or even something that you may think will help me find it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, according to the '79 issue of the Chiltons for the II, (I'm apparently a geek, I have the manuel for every stang from 64-93 )
The SDV should be on the vac line coming out of the distributor, before you get to the ported vacum switch.
Notes on reinstillation:
"Make sure the black end of the valve is connected to the line from the carb and the color coded end is connected to the line from the SDV to the distributor"
According to the diagram it should be a flat diaphram looking piece (probibly round) with the hose attached to each flat face.
Haynes Suck!
Hope it helps,
J

Thank you! I will take a look as soon as I get home from school today and let you know if I can find it. Out of curiousity what manuel are you using, also - is there any way you could send me an email containing a picture of the diagram? Thanks,

Oh, duh - Chilton's. Sorry for being stupid. I'd still like a scan of the page though if you are willing.

Perfect, I thank you so much. I have found and removed the SDV and it fixed my slow launch (take off) speed. Upon further research (I wen t to Kragen and gave it to the guy and said 'WTF is this for?'. So he told me it's basically a device who's sole purpose is to help the car pass smog - It slows the vacum suction which would normally be stronger and give the car more gas.) Anyways, all is well and good now - Thanks again,

P.S. IF anyone ever askes the same question, or a similar one, the SDV valve for my 2300cc 1974 Mustang II Ghia is not a disc as in your book but rather a small cylinder the size of a film canister. =)
