Default Fly Wheel Starter Issues

Since ford makes different fly wheels, are the transmission bell housings also different? If so, how can you tell if you have the correct bell housing?

Yes they do make different bellhousings. I'm not sure if the starters are interchangeable, though...

BTW... Auto or manual?

My mistake then... I know that they make different housings for autos, but not sure about manuals other than the bolt pattern which I believe went from a 5 bolt to a 6 bolt in the late 60s...
