99 Cobra 5 speed in a 93?

Hey guys, my buddy picked up a 90 lx with a 408 in it. The tranny in it now is stock and he knows it will only be time before it goes. We have the chance to get the 5 speed out of a third friends 99 cobra. Can we utilize that 99 5 speed with the 408 by changing bell housings? What else am I missing, or am I totally off here.

The bell housing is made onto the tranny on the 99+ stangs. It wont bolt together.

I have looked into this as well and it is not compatible with a windsor.
