![]() hey guys i was wondering how much a junked 390 or 351c would run me from like a used junker that specialized in older mustangs ...any ideas or estimates on an old (rebuildable) block that i could put together for my '68 - my 347 plans went down the toilet after i calculated an estimated 6k+ for everything. furthermore if i found a 390 or 351c would i be able to find a bellhousing for a c4 to bolt up to these? or did these use the c6's ..i already have a race built c4 that i bought for the stroker motor but now its just sitting there...

![]() A 390 and the C motor will cost a small fortune to build.
If you have the funds just get a 302 crate motor from Ford. Seems like there around $3100 or so? Heck, maybe you can find a complete used fox motor and run it awhile.

i know i should just build the 5.0 with a nice cam/head/intake combo and drop it in there - but i was kind of lookin for more cubes ..you know how it goes i think those ford racing motors are rated at 345 hp or something along those lines ...just think if i built my 5.0 with a pair of victor jr's on it ![]() |

![]() The 390s came with C6s. The 390 cost a bunch to build. I've got a 416 stroker, and I don't even want to know how much I have in it.

![]() The 390's a great engine. But if my 67 Fastback didn't come stock with it, my choice would be a stroker based on a 351w. The parts are cheaper, the engine lighter, and it should bolt up to your C4 with no problems. good luck
