![]() In my 88GT(5 speed), if I accelerate hard, there is a metallic clicking from under the car. It's pretty loud and sounds like something is about to break.
If I pull out slow, it doesn't do it but there is always a slight vibration while driving down the road. Is this a bad U-joint or something wrong with the tranny?

![]() I usually pick up on my u-joints going bad when I put the vehicle into reverse. The change in direction will generally cause a "clunking" sound. Have you noticed that at all?

![]() U joints it is. Change both of them. If one is bad, the other isn't far behind.

![]() And they're cheap too. I always change those first, and then look for other problems like wheel bearings, etc.
