Default mass airflow conversion kit?????

I have an 87 speed density system in my car and i want to change it to mass airflow unit! ive seen the kits for sale on summit racing for about $600 bucks. i want to add more engine upgrades. would it be hard and worth all the time and intsalling it?? i need info from someone whos done it!
