Many of you probably remember me posting about the buddies 408w that he bought last summer, that only put down 305 horse on the dyno.

We knew we had a fuel issue. So he decided the edelbrock rpm heads were not enough, so he had me put on the edelbrock victor jr heads. Even with the head change, only a little power gain was noticeable.

So then he decided he wanted the electric fuel pump. While he was at it, he wanted a rear sump tank. When we removed the tank, behold the fuel line that was 3/4 of the way crimped, in two spots close to the tank. All of that darn diagnosing for a bone headed thing like that.

I am going to post some pics of the custom 4 link suspension we bolted in today, along with the strange 33 splined axle 8.8, all with the c clip eliminator mod and a spool. I am so looking forward to racing this thing soon! Thanks for all the help last summer guys.

http://www.knights-rule.com/cgi/vbulletin/images/smilies/doh.gif Silly things happen man! I actually scored a 79 truck for $150 because it wouldn't stay running, because of that exact same problem. Remember, Brake Specific Fuel Consumption. LOL I knew you'd figure it out eventually!

Rear end looks good bro!!!

My car had it's fuel line kinked, or "flattened" from being on a lift, i was mad, but it's still like that, i hammered it to be more opened up, but I still havent done anything to replace it, im thinking about just running a braided line? does someone know if i could get the adapter that adapts the fuel rail to an -AN fitting? thnx

btw, I like the idea of someone having a roller block in an old fastback like that, good luck...

My car did that same thing some years ago. It wouldn't run more than 50 mph on the freeway without fuel starvation and cutting out. Then it would be OK under 50. It was because of that flexible line connection to the gas tank that was kinked. Twenty minutes after the peoblem was identified, everything was fixed and the car ran as strong as ever.

Sounds like a fairly common problem in these cars.
