I'm about to find out. I bought a set of '05 17x8 rims for my '65 (it's even tighter than your '67) They added more backspace to '05 and up rims. That's not good. '94-'04 rims are a better fit. Either way you'll need a set of spacers. Try these links:

Good Luck

I thought the 05-07 are different lug patteren than 04 and down.

I have a set of 06 with new tires for $600.

Like these, came off a 06 GT. I believe their a upgrade of sorts.

i havnt tried the older stangs yet, but i just helped a freind put some 18 x 11.5's ZR-1 corvette wheels on a 74 z-28 .he bought some spacers and we finally had to take them (three times) and have some milled off but they worked.

Good luck. The 16X8 rims I put on mine were custom built for the 65, and suppose to be the desired backspacing.

Long story short, my car is lowered a bit...and if I go up an incline like a driveway (actually backing out) with the wheels cranked, she will rub.

I also had to leave some coil over on my rear shocks....otherwise when the shift kit hit, the rear would rub.
