You can probaly do a search and find some good info.... I was one of the guys who didnt get gears as one of the first mods, But i now realize gears provide a good seat of the pants improvement for only 200$ if you can install them.
Also for 189$ i slapped on a set of crane 1.7 roller rockers on my stock heads, I actually felt a significant improvement.
If your looking to go fast as you can go, cheapest, nitrous is the way, but not too much since the 93+'s pistons dont like a big shot of spray.
I like free mods as well:)
Good luck

Agreed, gears will put the biggest "feel" as a mod in the begining. Exhaust is always a cheap mod, an off-road pipe will not only improve that "mustang sound" but free up a few pony's at the same time. Good luck.

I disagree with gears being the best bang for the buck on a stick car but on an auto gears should be your first mod.

Gears are the cheapest and the most bang for the buck. You'll feel the difference the first time you nail it.

I agree somewhat, If i had a 150 shot and a stroker, i would probaly still be running my old 3.27's or 3.08's.:D
But im not.

IMO, If you race more than street drive, get 4.10's; if you drive on the street more than race, get 3.73's.
If you've never installed gears before, then have them done proffesionally. it's worth it when you don't hear a whine in the gears and know that you have to pull everything off and try again. I would invest in a good diff cover while you( or your shop) has it off. Good luck.

If you flip the quad shocks, you can fit a 265 back there. Any wider, without mini tubs, you'll most likely rub. You may want to roll your fenders with the 265's as well to be on the safe side for launches. Good luck. ;)

what about underdrive pulleys? what are the pros and cons of them and how hard are they to install? and is there anything thing else i have to do if i install them?
Coupe50h

pros: easy to install, 5-10 hp.
cons: can drain your battery, or not cool the engine as well, but most people run them with no prob's, you can get an overdrive alternator pulley so you wont lose amps.
I went with just an asp underdrive crank pulley.
oh yea, might have to get a shorter belt.
